Carlos Resende
Carlos Alberto Alves Teixeira de Resende was born on the 11th of May 1961, in Coimbra, Portugal. As a visual artist, he has exhibited regularly since 1983, with an average of 25 individual exhibitions and around 40 collective exhibitions. He was an Arts teacher between 1984 and 2016. He studied at A.R.C.A.-U.U.A.C. He completed his ungraduated degree in Painting. He has been a teacher trainer certified by the Scientific Board of the University of Minho, in the area of the visual arts, since 1997. He is currently attending the curricular components of the Master's Degree in Art and Heritage, at the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra. Some of his works are part of private collections and of public institutions in Portugal, such as in Lisbon, Aveiro (place of the first individual exhibition in July 1985); Cantanhede; V.N. De Poiares; Condeixa; Álvaro Viana de Lemos Museum in Lousã; Figueira da Foz Casino; as well as several public places in Coimbra. His works are also part of private collections in countries such as Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain. Recently, the exhibition “Entre Coimbra e Luanda”-July 2016- which took place at the Instituto Camões-Centro Cultural Português- at the Embassy of Portugal in Luanda, Angola, is worthy of note. In January and February 2018, the exhibition “PINTURA AINDA PINTURA”-Água- was open to the public at the Museum of the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, in Coimbra (Exhibition as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage). In September/October 2018, the exhibition “Sapatinho” held at the Municipal Library of S. João da Madeira, which included oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, artistic objects and creative writing under the pseudonym Fred Kempo with illustrations under the penname of Carlos Resende.
